How do I Apply?
Qualifications for Participants
Are you a woman, 17 years of age or older, interested in finding out more about becoming a firefighter? Interested in developing your leadership skills? Looking for a Career change? Interested in a possible Volunteer venture in your community? Camp Glow may be for you. It's a weeklong fire camp that incorporates classes, hands-on activities, and physical training in the fire service environment. You'll get a chance to learn in a supportive environment, challenge yourself to your physical limits and get an idea what firefighting is really about.
In order to qualify participants must
- be covered by medical insurance
- be in good physical and mental condition
- be 17 years of age or older
- have a good attitude
- commit to follow all rules and regulations of Camp Glow and to participate in all hands on activities and classes
- have not attended camp glow before
- successfully pass an interview screening
How to Apply
If you wish to apply to Camp Glow;
- Fill out the Application/Parental Consent form
and Health form
- Make an appointment with an approved Marine Institute physician.
- Fill out the waiver form(s)
- Obtain a letter of reference from your Phys Ed Teacher, Sports Coach or Guidance Counselor or from a non-family member who can attest to your physical ability and desire to pursue this challenge.
All documents must then, either be mailed / faxed or e-mailed to the appropriate address(es) below:
Make an appointment with an approved Marine Institute physician. (upon acceptance)
