Project Supervisor Criteria

Each student enrolled in MSTM 4100/4200 is responsible for selecting a Project Supervisor. Your Project Supervisor may be someone with whom you work (or have worked), or a faculty member at a post-secondary institution. Students should look to educational institutions, local companies and industry organizations for an appropriate Supervisor.

The Project Supervisor must have:

  1. an appropriate level of education. All Supervisors must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree.
  2. technical experience in the project topic area.

The Project Supervisor must be prepared to offer an appropriate amount of time and support to assist students in the completion of BOTH 4100 and 4200.

Please note, there is no list of potential Supervisors. Supervisors are not automatically appointed to students. Students are responsible for recruiting their own Project Supervisors, and for ensuring they meet the minimum requirements describe above.

Each student is required to provide the following information about their Project Supervisor:

  • name
  • title/position held
  • company name, mailing address and telephone number
  • email address
  • pertinent academic background
