You're finally on your way to getting to Where You Want to Be.... A Marine Institute Graduate and alumnus!

Apply to Graduate
Submit your Application to Graduate by April 30 to the Marine Institute Registrar's Office or online through Student Self Service.
Graduation requirements differ for each program.
For most programs, you must successfully complete all of your program courses and have an average of 60%.
You must also have completed the required sea time for:
- Nautical Science
- Marine Engineering
- Bridge Watch
- Marine Diesel Mechanics
Your sea time must be logged with Transport Canada. You must submit an official document from Transport Canada demonstrating your sea time to the Registrar’s Office.

Check your Graduation Status
Check Student Self Service to see your status for graduation.
The Student Self Service will indicate:
- your application is pending
-or- - you have been approved to graduate
Please ensure you have paid all your fees. You will not be able to receive your diploma if you have any outstanding fees.
You will not be able to pay fees on the afternoon of June 15, 2012.

Reserve Your Tickets
Please let us know if you are able to attend graduation so we can order a cap and gown for you. If we are not notified, we cannot guarantee that a cap and gown will be available for you.
Graduation invitations will be available from Information Centre on June 14 after 1:00 pm. You will need to sign for your tickets, however, you can arrange for another person to pick up your tickets. Each graduate receives three tickets. Graduates do not require a ticket.
Graduates can reserve extra tickets. Your name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified if additional tickets become available.
4.
Check Your Diploma
On your Application to Graduate, please ensure you spell your name correctly. This is how your name will appear on your diploma.
Check Student Self Service to ensure there are no errors on your diploma.
If there are any errors, please contact Holly Cooper immediately to make any changes.
5.
Pick up Your Academic Dress
Gowns and caps can be picked up on Graduation day, June 15 from 12 noon - 1:30 pm in the coat room near Hampton Hall in the main lobby.
Once the ceremony is over and you've taken your pictures, please return the academic dress to the coat room.
Your official diploma will be available once your return your academic dress.
Attention: Advanced Diploma Graduates
If you are attending the Graduation Ceremony, you must
pre-order your hood by Monday, June 4. We are not able to guarantee
a hood if you do not pre-order.
6.
Attend Graduation
The graduation rehearsal begins at 10:00 am on June 15 in the gymnasium.
All graduates and heads of schools must attend.
Graduation takes place Friday, June 15 at 2:00 pm in the Marine Institute Gymnasium.
The ceremony is approximately one hour and 30 minutes in length.
