To help retailers and manufacturers in Canada to avail of these standards, the Marine Institute is offering two training courses this winter in a new BRC standard.
For two days this week, students and employers will learn more about each other at the Marine Institute's annual Career Fair Feb. 8 and 9.
This event offers Marine Institute students and alumni an opportunity to network with employers and learn more about the hands-on application of their field of study. Employers have an opportunity to meet students face-to-face and showcase their business to potential employees.
The Marine Institute and the Company of Master Mariners, will host the first ever Nautical Skills Competition Feb 24-25, 2012.
The Nautical Skills Competition is a series of challenging exercises designed not only to test knowledge and ability of future deck officers but also to develop leadership skills and confidence.
The Province's leading experts in the field of aquaculture, including the Marine Institute (MI) gathered on the south coast last week for the fourth bi-annual Aquaculture Showcase event, co-organized by the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry Association (NAIA) and the Coast of Bays Corporation (CoBC).
