Abstract Submission Guidelines for Oral and Poster Presentations

Contributed papers are invited for presentation at the Millennial Meeting. All topics related to aquaculture will be considered. The presentations must be of a scientific or technical nature. A completed abstract form must be submitted. The deadline for receipt of abstracts is April 12, 2000.

Oral presentations:
Oral presentations will be limited to 20 minutes and this includes a five-minute question period. Slide, overhead and projectors for computer presentations will be available.

For speakers using computer presentations, please  note:
  • only PC compatible PowerPoint presentations for Office 95 and higher will be accepted
  • only computers provided by the conference will be used.
  • presenters must send a copy of their presentations, either as an attachment to: aac2000@umoncton.ca OR by mail on CD OR Zip disk to: Aquaculture Canada 2000, Université de Moncton, Moncton, NB

    by May 22, 2000
  • in addition, they should bring an electronic copy of their talk with them to the conference as well as a backup set of slides or transparencies.

Poster presentations:
Poster boards (dimensions of 120cm x 120cm) will be made available. Presenters could use either velcro, tape or pins to set up their material. Please be advised that poster set-up times are: Sunday, May 28, 2000 12:00 - 6:00 pm and Monday, May 29, 2000 8:30 - 10:00 am.

Abstract Guidelines for Contributed Papers:

  1. Use a 12 pt Times Roman font and set left/right margins to 2.5 cm on letter-sized paper (left justification).
  2. Type the title in bold font style. Leave a blank line.
  3. Type the name(s) of the author(s). Place an asterisk (*) after the name of the person presenting the paper and underline name in the case of a student who wishes to be considered for best oral or poster presentations. Use superscript numbers to indicate affiliation. Leave a blank line.
  4. Following the appropriate superscript, type the author(s) address(es). Include company/institution, city, province/state, country and postal/zip code. Leave a blank line.
  5. Type the text, single-spaced in one paragraph. The limit is 200 words.
  6. Save in Word 6.0/95 format. Use your last name and initial as the file name (e.g. Brun.N.doc).
  7. Submit the abstract either by email as an attachment, or on a 3.5" disk . If sending by disk, please label it with your name, and indicate whether it is for an oral or poster presentation and if it is a student paper. Also include a hard copy of the abstract. Disks will be returned at the meeting.
  8. Please ensure that the file you submit is virus-free!

E-mail your abstract to: aac2000@umoncton.ca with "AC 2000 Abstract" in the subject line. The abstract submission form (along with the registration form) can be faxed (506-858-4541) or mailed to the address provided below.

Please note: The abstract itself must be received in electronic format and not faxed.
