- Description of Project and Results Achieved:
Goal of the Project:
To establish a long term and sustainable training and education programme to strengthen and support the artisanal fishing of Guyana.
Objectives:
To design and deliver training in the area of organization and management which will improve the operations of each of the fourteen fisheries co-ops of Guyana and the boat building operations.
To provide training to improve the efficiency of fishermen in the area of quality control, processing, and marketing.
To provide technical training to fishermen to improve their harvesting capability through more efficient boats and engines and better catching methods.
