Testimonials

The overwhelming response from youth and communities continues to demonstrate the impact of MI Ocean Net's projects.  We receive many emails from communities sharing feedback, volunteers looking to further get involved, and students wanting to know more about MI and marine related careers.  This kind of response identifies the need for continued engagement and above all it shows that youth and communities are willing to get involved in marine sustainability in NL.

The following are testimonials from participants in various MI Ocean Net events and projects.  If you have some feedback to share, please don't hesitate to Contact Us!

Youth and the Oceans Conference Series

  • "I was at the OceansConferencetoday in Corner Brook and I really found that it impacted me. Things I have never really actually thought about were spoken about today, and it made me realize that turning off my lights, and recycling isn't enough. I want to do so much more! I will do everything I can to [be] more aware of the things that are happening to our world, and will be on the look out to find new ways to help! I want to thank you for giving me the knowledge to do that. So once again, thanks for everything! It's reallyappreciated!"

- Amy Cull, Student, Pasadena Academy
Pasadena, NL

  • "You definitely made my students and myself think more critically about our actions and the choices we make. Throughout the nutrition breaks my students commented on how great you were and how they wanted to do a community cleanup. Your conference is having an impact and you certainly deserve a pat on the back for doing such a great job! [Justin's] passion is infectious and is getting passed on to the children [he] educates!"

- Linda Stacey, Teacher, Holy Name of Mary Academy
Lawn, NL

  • "I just really want to extend the sincerest of thank you's for everything you do. I have not lost one ounce of excitement and enthusiasm that you left us with from [the YOC]. So much of what you spoke about yesterday is on the very top of our priorities and [Justin] has shown us more passion and knowledge on these topics than we have seen in a long time. I spent much of the day turning and looking around at the facesof the students just tosee the inspired looks on their faces and it moved me. I will takeeverything you said with me throughout the rest of mydays here at BPERC and I am surethe impression you left will stay with me long after!"

- Ashley Spencer, Burin Peninsula Environmental Reform Committee (BPERC)
