Acquire the knowledge and skills that will allow you to become an effective manager. The Master of Technology Management (MTM) is an innovative program, the first of its kind in Canada, providing educational and career enhancement opportunities for busy, working professionals. Courses in the program are designed to equip you with the skills to manage the challenges and dynamics of industries driven by technological innovation and to think strategically about issues that encompass the management of engineering technology.
The MTM program will provide you with strategic planning and decision making skills in the context of technology-based organizations. You will have an understanding of the nature, structure and operation of technical operations, and the factors that influence business decisions and success of engineering technology-based organizations.
This online, course based program provides a core of technology and business management courses together with elective options that offer opportunities to focus in particular areas. Students must complete 30 credit hours (10 courses) of course work, which include two compulsory core courses with an option to complete eight elective courses or six elective courses and a project in technology management. New students are accepted into the program in fall and winter semesters.
Admission to the program is competitive. Professionals working in or intending to enter technical management careers, who are considering this program, must meet the general admission requirements of Memorial University's School of Graduate Studies. Applicants must also have an undergraduate degree with appropriate technology and business management courses. A minimum of two years related employment experience is also normally required.
If you want to continue working while developing the abilities and skills necessaries to move your career forward, The Master of Technology Management (MTM) is for you.
The MTM can help you become an effective leader with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead modern organizations, coupled with the ability to think strategically about the issues that encompass the management of technology.
