The Office of Research and Development is responsible for the planning, organizing and promoting the growth of research and development activities at the Marine Institute.

The Office:

• develops and implements the Institute’s Research and Development Strategic Plan
• acts a liaison between specialized centres of the Marine Institute and with Memorial University researchers
• Engages students in research
• Identifies research opportunities in the marine sectors
• Accesses major sources of research funding
• Identifies and attracts highly qualified people and resources
• Promotes the Institute’s research and development capabilities and capacity
