I've Applied. Now What?

Due to the Canada Post labour dispute, as of November 15, 2024 the Office of the Registrar will be unable to receive hardcopy official documents by mail via Canada Post. To ensure documents are received in a timely manner during this service disruption, we highly recommend choosing an alternative delivery method. We accept documents sent by courier or institutions can e-mail any official documents directly to admissions@mi.mun.ca

Any requests for hard copy documents to be sent via Canada Post will be held and processed after the strike has ended.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact admissions@mi.mun.ca

In choosing to study at the Marine Institute you have made the first step of an exciting journey to a viable career. Graduates of Marine Institute programs are excelling in their fields here in this province and around the world.

1. Prepare and submit your documents

After your application has been processed, you will receive an email outlining the official documents required to complete your application. It is your responsibility to ensure that all official documents are submitted to the Marine Institute, Memorial University, through the appropriate channels based on your academic background. During the application process, the admissions portal will allow you to upload certain unofficial documents. Early acceptance may be considered based on these unofficial documents. However, to finalize and verify your admission, we will require the official documents corresponding to your admission category and curriculum.

If official documents are not received promptly, we will send reminder emails. Once all required official documents have been submitted, an official decision on your application will be made, and you will be notified of the outcome via email.

2. Prepare for your medical

Applicants seeking entry into Marine Institute programs which lead to Transport Canada Certification or are required to provide proof of satisfactory physical fitness, will require the necessary medical certificate prior to the start of their program.
