Build It. Race It.
Are you a high school student interested in designing an operational ship model? The Marine Institute's program and program invite you to participate in the Marine Institute's Annual Model Boat Race.
Junior high, High school, and community groups are encouraged to enter a team in the 2026 competition to be held at the Marine Institute's Ridge Road campus. Teams will work together to build an operational ship model, applying physics and mathematical principles, and competitively race the vessel in the Institute's flume tank.
