Recreation and Fitness

At the Marine Institute, we believe in the importance of staying active and living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. There are many opportunities to become involved in a recreation and fitness program during your time at the Marine Institute, including fitness classes such as spin class, CrossFit, strength and conditioning classes, intramural sports, and varsity sports.

Virtual Fitness classes will start this Wednesday, January 6th and will run to the week of April 7th.

The schedule for the semester is:

Mondays at 1:00pm (Click here to join Mondays' classes)

Fridays at 12:00pm (Click here to join Fridays' classes)

NEW FEATURE: For those of you who cannot make the virtual fitness class during its scheduled time, the classes will be recorded and uploaded to Rose's Virtual Fitness Channel on Stream: https://web.microsoftstream.com/channel/32f9ada5-a837-4585-a1e8-6fcf9a5c073a. Videos will be uploaded after every class and available for 24 hours.

Outdoor Activities are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00pm, weather dependent. Snowshoeing, cross country skiing and walking are the three outdoor activities that will be available. If interested in these activities, please email me (rose.hatfield@mi.mun.ca) early morning on the day of so I can inform you of which activity we will be doing that day. Please meet at the front entrance of the Marine Institute on both days. A few sets of snow shoes and three sets of cross country skies are available for your use.

If you have your own personal equipment, please bring along.
