Prerequisites: Minimum certification of Watchkeeping Mate STCW/2

Type and Purpose:

This course is designed for deck and engineering officers who have bridge experience in at least one anchor handling operation. The course will provide theory and simulator experience covering basic anchor handling and winch operations.

Course Location: Marine Institute campus, Ridge Road (CMS)

Certificate Awarded: Certificate of Achievement

Duration: 3 days (21 hours)

Prerequisites: Chief Mate or Master Certificate; and participants are accepted on the recommendation of the company

Type and Purpose:‌

This course develops an understanding of statical stability theory, criteria for stability assessment and rules and regulations impacting on vessel stability. Emphasis is placed on practical application of the theory to calculate statical stability parameters under specific conditions of load and then compare this to accepted stability standards.Hibernia Offshore Operations Simulator interior
