Before you begin your first semester at the Marine Institute, Memorial University you will need to complete some non-credit course work to register for and laboratory courses.
Integrity 1000 is a required non-credit course which you will automatically be registered for after you register for your first-semester courses. The course will be available in your list of courses in Brightspace. You can start INTG 1000 after registering for courses and you must pass this course before you can register for the next semester. Note: this course is NOT required for Technical Certificate students.
Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention (SVM 0204) is a required non-credit course that must be completed by all new undergraduate and graduate students at Memorial, as well as certificate and diploma students at the Marine Institute. You will automatically be registered for the course. The course will be available in your list of courses in Brightspace. You must pass this course before you can register for the next semester.
Laboratory science courses may require Science 1807 (Safety in the Science Laboratory) and Science 1808 (WHMIS), online safety training courses, as prerequisites. These non-credit courses must be completed with a grade of at least 80% before the end of the registration period and can be accessed through Brightspace.
