Dr. Paul Brett is the vice-president pro tempore of Memorial University for the Fisheries and Marine Institute.

An important role of the Office of the Vice-President of Memorial University (Marine Institute) is to align the activities, operations, budget policies and administration structures with the Marine Institute’s mission and Vision 2041 strategic plan “To the World” and Memorial University’s strategic plan “Transforming Our Horizons”.

The Vice-President of Memorial University (Marine Institute) reports directly to the president and works in close collaboration with the Marine Institute's Executive Committee, as well as the other vice-presidents of Memorial University and members of the senior management team of Memorial University.
