I am a Master Mariner and a graduate of the Marine Institute’s Nautical Science program and also have a B.Ed (post-secondary degree) from MUN. Prior to teaching at MI, I have worked 10 years in the shipping industry, primarily in the oil and gas sector on board seismic survey and platform supply vessels. My primary roles at MI are the development and delivery of industrial response short courses and program chair for the Transport Canada nautical program.

Since 2000, I have worked in the telecommunications, finance, offshore and education industries. I began my employment at Memorial University in August 2011 and I started working with the School of Maritime Studies at the Marine Institute in November 2016
