Arthur Anastasiadi, Instructor

Teaching various marine engineering courses at MI MUN since 2005. I moved to St. John’s NL in 1996 from Batumi, Republic of Georgia. Graduated (1992) from Georgian State Marine Academy. Worked on different type of boats from junior to chief engineer positions.  Married, have two kids girl and boy.

Darryl Francis, Instructor

I am a marine engineer (1st. Class) and I hold degrees in both Education (P. S.) (MUN) and Maritime Studies (MUN). I have a Master’s degree in Maritime Management (MUN). In addition to my work at MI, I have extensive seagoing experience having worked on a variety of ship types. My main teaching area is marine engineering but I have been involved heavily in maritime safety as well.

Crystal Hanlon, Instructor and Program Chair

I am a graduate of the Marine Institute’s Marine Engineering Program with a 2nd Class Motor Certificate from Transport Canada. I have completed courses in post-secondary education and I am currently working toward a bachelor’s degree. My career at sea involved extensive travel of the Great Lakes region on self-unloaders and bulk carriers. My main teaching area is marine engineering knowledge, however I have also taught electrotechnology and offshore safety.

James Perry, Instructor

I am a graduate of the College of Fisheries marine Engineering Program and hold Marine Engineering Certificates (1st. Class motor and 4th Class steam) I have extensive seagoing experience having worked on a variety of ship types. Ship work has also included new build construction and drydockings of larger vessels. Shore side work has been as a Superintendent and Technical Fleet Manager for a shipping company. Teaching responsibilities are in relation to marine Engineering Programs.

Reza Rouzbeh, Instructor

I hold a first class marine engineer COC >3000 KW, as well as a post graduate degree in maritime technical operations (Liverpool John Moores University, UK). I began my sea going career up on completion of a four years marine engineering program and by sailing on various ships. Being a maritime instructor, ship building site manager and an offshore company’s technical manager are the titles of the jobs that I have worked since stopped sailing.

Albert White, Instructor

I graduated from the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program in 1984. I hold a First Class Motor Marine Engineering Certificate, as well as Bachelor Degrees in Maritime Studies, Technology and Post- Secondary Education. My seagoing experience ranges from cargo vessels, container ships, seismic and offshore supply vessels. I am currently involved with overseeing the Marine Engineering technology Program at the Marine Institute, including implementation of IMO and Transport Canada regulations.
