Dear Memorial students, faculty, and staff,
Memorial University is updating the plan that guides how we collaborate with the public. This plan will build on the initial Public Engagement Framework which reached the end of its first phase in 2020.
The new strategy will continue the work of the Framework, offering a vision, values, and definition for public engagement at Memorial, along with goals and objectives to help guide the university's collaborations with the public related to research, teaching and learning, and public engagement projects.
Of course, a strategy focused on public partnerships and collaboration needs to be shaped in an engaged way! Over the fall, the Office of Public Engagement is hosting dialogue sessions to better understand challenges, opportunities, and ideas related to public engagement at Memorial.
All students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate in dialogue sessions being held at all of Memorial’s Newfoundland and Labrador campuses. We encourage you to attend a session, in-person or virtually, at your primary campus. If you’re not able attend that session, we encourage you to attend the final, virtual-only session, streaming from Signal Hill Campus.
There will also more specific, thematic session later in the fall, and we’ll also be having conversations with community and public partners across Newfoundland and Labrador as part of the renewal process.
