Offshore Operations Simulator

The Offshore Operations simulator is integrated with the Full Mission Bridge Simulator, the Heritage Bridge Simulator, and the Full Mission Propulsion Plant Simulator for combined personnel and operations exercises.

In addition to simulation training for offshore support and anchor handling  and towing ship maneuvering training this simulator is also extensively used in our industrial and applied research projects.

Features of this simulator include:

  • Simulation software - Kongsberg KSIM Version 2.7
  • Specialized control systems for offshore supply and anchor handling vessels – include full winch and deck equipment controls
  • Approval through DNV and the Nautical Institute for Dynamic Positioning training
  • Reference systems for offshore field charts (Artemis, DARPS, DGPS, Radius, DRONE)
  • Dynamic Positioning System - Kongsberg KPOS Version 8.4.5
  • Visual system - 18 channel LCD flat panels, 320 degree horizontal field of vision
  • Motion platform - MOOG 6 DOF platform
  • In-house hydrodynamic and geographical database modelling capabilities
  • Configurable Navigation and helm/propulsion control systems including Voith Schneider propulsion
  • Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) charting system
  • In-house hydrodynamic and geographical database modelling capabilities
  • Custom interface for independent control of motion platform
  • Kongsberg Hydrodynamic Modelling Tool (HDMT) system
  • Full data capture, including video, sound and histo-graphic display of helm and engine orders
