We are located on the Marine Institute’s Ridge Road campus at 155 Ridge Road in St. John’s. We’re always happy to have a conversation with our friends and alumni!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss ways for your gift make an impact.
Tribute and memorial gifts are a wonderful way to honour a family member, friend, mentor or colleague. Your gift is a tribute to their influence and legacy in your life and can be made to any area at MI that is close to your heart. For example, after a loved one’s passing, you may choose to give to the Marine Institute Scholarship Fund in lieu of sending flowers. You may also consider a memorial fund, creating a lasting tribute for years to come.
A gift made in tribute or in memory is a beautiful way to show you care. For more information, please contact us.
A critical component of Marine Institute programs is hands-on learning, and MI is honoured to receive gifts-in-kind to support these activities. Examples of in-kind gifts include simulation technology, ROVs (remotely operated vehicles), and life rafts and personal protective equipment (PPE).
We welcome industry to contact us to discuss these opportunities for in-kind gifts.
Memorial University/Marine Institute employees and retirees can participate in faculty and staff giving. Simply log onto my.mun.ca and select the "Employees" tab to find the "Faculty and Staff Giving" link and set up your payroll gift. Please note, donations through payroll or pension deductions will be noted on your annual T4(A) slip for your tax return. One-time gifts made by cheque or credit card are receipted right away; recurring gifts through credit card are receipted at the end of the fiscal year.
For more information, please contact us.
Estate gifts provide opportunities to benefit generations well into the future. A gift to MI has an exponential effect, one that creates opportunities for learning and innovation that are paid forward in the communities we share. Wise estate planning can reduce taxes payable and maximize the impact of your estate, allowing you to help your heirs and fulfill your charitable wishes. Please consult your lawyer, accountant and/or financial advisors when planning a legacy gift.
Please contact us to discuss your wishes and ensure your gift is directed to your desired impact.
There are considerable tax advantages to making a gift of appreciated securities. These types of gifts can be conveniently transferred electronically from your financial institution.
Many companies have programs match gifts partially or fully. Check with human resources department to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.
