Student Emergency Funds

As the effects of the COVID-19 crisis continue to ripple across the globe, students at Memorial are experiencing many of the same emergencies as other global citizens. In response, funds are in place to support the spectrum of stressful situations Memorial students are facing. The Undergraduate Student Emergency Fund and the SGS Graduate Student Emergency Fund have been established and are available to both undergraduate and graduate students on any of Memorial’s campuses.

Should you like to donate to these pan-university funds, you can find more information on donating to these funds here. Please note that this link will bring you to a donation page for all of Memorial University. Gifts that are eligible for a charitable tax receipt will be receipted by Memorial University.

Dr. Vianne Timmons, Memorial’s President and Vice-Chancellor has shared a video message highlighting Memorial is doing everything in its power to put the needs of the students above all else. This message is available here. For more information on these student emergency funds and relief efforts for Memorial students a recent Gazette article can be viewed here.

Support for Memorial students is more important now than ever as students face unprecedented circumstances. Your donations to these emergency funds are gratefully accepted. Thank you.

Marine Institute students requiring further information on applying to these funds are encouraged to contact Dr. Angie Clarke, Director Academic and Student Affairs, Marine Institute.
