Return to Campus - Students

In October 2020, the Marine Institute announced the Winter 2021 academic semester will remain primarily remote and that on-campus activity would occur in a measured and safe manner, adhering to the provincial government’s COVID-19 Alert Level System and aligning with provincial public health directives.

For students with essential practical components in their programs, practical hands-on activities will be held on campus, with appropriate health and safety measures in place, for the Winter 2021 semester.

Teams across the Marine Institute have been working diligently to plan for a safe return to campus informed by public health advice and best practices.

We’re closely following public health measures and cleaning standards, but if you are coming to campus, we need your help to minimize any risks.

Below is a list of the essentials: what you need to know about campus health and safety protocols before and during visits to MI campuses.

Every student and employee has an important role to play in mitigating the spread of COVID‑19. It is up to each and every one of us to follow public health guidance and the recommendations on this website and to respect each other as we return to and share the space on our campus.
