Graduation requirements are different for each program. For most programs, you must successfully complete all of your program courses and have an average of 60%.
You must also have completed the required sea time for:
Your sea time must be logged with Transport Canada. You must submit an official document from Transport Canada demonstrating your sea time to the Registrar’s Office. Once you meet these requirements, Apply for Graduation through Student Self Service. Once in Self Service, go to the Student Menu and select Graduation, then select Apply to Graduate and complete information as requested.
Friday, June 19 at 2:00 pm in the Marine Institute Gymnasium. The ceremony is approximately one hour and 30 minutes in length.
Yes! Following the graduation ceremony, we will celebrate with a reception for all of our graduates, their guests, Marine Institute faculty and staff, and other invited guests. We look forward to this occasion every year, as it is a well-deserved opportunity for us to honour your achievements. This year, the reception will take place in the cafeteria, and we hope that you and your guest(s) will join us for this special reception.
Gowns, caps and hoods can be picked up from 11 am - 1:30 pm in room W2048. You will be asked to review your graduation card, including your name and program. This information is very important and should be accurate as this is the information the Registrar will announce when you are on stage accepting your diploma. Once the ceremony is over and you’ve taken your pictures, please return the academic dress to room W2048. Your official diploma will be available once your return your academic dress.
Diplomas will be sent to your permanent address. Make sure to confirm your permanent address by logging into Student Self Service.
