The Scout and Ranger events will be live-streamed on May 2-3 on YouTube starting at 9:00 a.m. each morning.

Teams are required to design and construct an ROV that they’ll pilot in MI’s flume tank to complete a series of underwater tasks. This year’s tasks relate to measuring and identifying shipwrecks, collecting eDNA data of invasive marine species, and producing marine renewable energy and monitoring its environmental impact.

The Scout class (junior high) will begin setting up their ROVs and performing safety inspections on the evening of May 1. Their competition begins at 10:00 am on May 2 and runs until 5:00 pm. An awards ceremony will follow.
