On-campus and remote delivery of courses during the Winter 2021 semester means that adverse weather conditions will change the Marine Institute’s practices for closure or delay announcements
In the event of inclement weather, the Marine Institute will announce restrictions to access for its Ridge Road campus and locations in Foxtrap and Holyrood. Classes and activities scheduled on-campus will be cancelled. Remote/online classes and work will continue.
Students and instructors will be able to access their remote and online courses via Brightspace, and unless individual instructors advise their students otherwise, all remote activities and deliverables will continue as scheduled. Instructors should discuss with their students in advance how they will communicate any adjustments to their schedule.
All members of the Marine Institute community are encouraged to download the MUN Safe app, visit www.mi.mun.ca or MI’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts for up-to-date information about weather-related closures, delays and other emergency information.
The Marine institute’s SERT Centre in Stephenville, NL will issue their own communications regarding their operations through local channels if they are impacted by adverse weather in their region.
