As announced today, Jan. 20, the Marine Institute Campus in St. John’s, and Holyrood and Foxtrap sites will remain closed on Tuesday January 21, 2020 for further clean up from the storm
Further to Dr. Robert Shea. MI's AVP (Academic and Student affairs) email on January 19, 2020, we encourage all faculty/instructors who are teaching winter 2020 courses to extend academic leniency and flexibility to Marine Institute students impacted by the current state of emergency This includes, but is not limited to, deadlines for submission of assignments, papers, etc., as well as attendance in classes and laboratories over the next couple of days. Students who have concerns related to their courses, specifically rescheduling of classes or evaluations, should reach out to their individual instructors.
We understand that students, faculty and staff may have questions regarding assignments, evaluations, schedules, fees, and deadlines. When normal operations fully resume, discussion will be held immediately to determine what changes if any are warranted. Once this occurs, information will be shared through regular channels to the Marine Institute Community.
