The Graduate Diploma in Marine Studies (Water Resource Management) equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to address the scientific, technical, and social dimensions of water resource management. You'll delve into pressing global water management challenges while mastering key principles of hydrology, aquatic systems, and limnology.
Additionally, you'll gain experience in areas such as water chemistry, geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, and water treatment techniques.
This one-year program includes six core courses delivered on campus, along with a 12-week internship to provide practical, real-world experience.
Admission is limited and competitive.
To be considered for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Marine Studies (Water Resource Management), a student must meet admission requirements for the Master of Marine Studies (Water Resource Management) program.
Minimum Admissions Requirements
Graduate Diploma in Marine Studies (Water Resource Management) - Bachelor’s degree (minimum second class) in a relevant area of study; applicants will normally have completed undergraduate courses in chemistry and statistics. Up to two seats per year are reserved for applicants of Indigenous ancestry who have met the admission requirements but are not in the top ranked candidates. The minimum TOEFL scores are: 580 for the paper-based test; 237 on the computer-based test; or 92 on the Internet-based test. The minimum IELTS score is an overall band score of 7.0. The minimum Duolingo English Test is 125.
