Prerequisites

Watchkeeping Mate or Fouth-class Engineer or Fishing Master, Third Class and successful completion of the following courses:

  • STCW Basic Safety
  • Survival Craft – STCW’95 V1/2 and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats; and
  • Advanced Firefighting-STCW’95 V1/3 & Officer Certification or MED-C Officer Certification (in lieu of the above three STCW’95 courses)

Course Description

This course in Marine Emergency Duties is designed for a vessel’s senior management. It includes the more senior aspects of emergency duties. The course is approved by Transport Canada and is mandatory for both deck and engineering officers requiring a continued proficiency endorsement. It also meets the Transport Canada course syllabus in Marine Publication TP 4957.
