To enable participants to develop:

1) An understanding of the management of Northern fisheries resouces.

2) The necessary seamanship skills, fishing gear knowledge, and fishing operations knowledge to participate safely in the Northern inshore fishery.

3) An understanding of personal and professional life adjustements involved with a career in the fishing industry.
