Prerequisites
Familiarization with navigation and communication facilities normally encountered on a fishing vessel.
Navigation training to the level of Fishing Master II or equivalent with sufficient knowledge to understand magnetic and true courses, latitude and longitude, waypoints and charting courses.
Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with awareness of the roles, authorities, and responsibilities of being the on scene co-ordinator for a search and rescue incident. It is also designed to give the students effective strategies for efficiently fulfilling this role.
