Course Description

This course is targeted towards visitors to an offshore installation who have not completed a course in Basic Survival Training (BST), and who will not spend more than seven (7) days offshore during a 12- month period. To provide participants with an awareness of the hazards associated with the marine environment, an understanding of their responsibilities during an offshore emergency and the ability to care for themselves in a survival situation, as required by C-NLOPB and CAPP regulations.

Course Outline

To provide participants with updated knowledge, skill, and proficiency regarding:

  • Hazards associated with the marine environment, offshore petroleum installations, and helicopters
  • Personal responsibilities during an offshore emergency
  • Caring for self in a survival situation
