Course Description
This entry-level course is designed to provide mariners with a basic knowledge of ships machinery and engineering, including electrical systems. In addition, the course includes an in-depth study the following acts, regulations, codes and orders.

2.0 Safe Working Practices Regulations as applied to Fishing Vessels
3.0 Boat and Fire Drill and Means of Exit Regulations
4.0 Canada Labour Code
5.0 Canada Shipping Act, 2001
6.0 Fire Safety Regulations
7.0 Life-Saving Equipment Regulations
8.0 Marine Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
9.0 Marine Personnel Regulations
10.0 Pollutant Discharge Reporting Regulations, 1995
11.0 Regulations for Prevention of Pollution from Ships and for Dangerous Chemicals
12.0 Safety Procedures for Confined Spaces
13.0 Safety Procedures for Hazardous Materials
