Prerequisites
Marine Institute approved medical clearance;
SCBA mask Fit Test prior to course start date;
Valid MED with respect to STCW Basic Safety (or equivalent);
Valid MED with respect to Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (or equivalent);
Valid MED with respect to Advanced Firefighting (or equivalent)
Course Description
This is a basic safety + survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats + advanced firefighting refresher training course designed to comply with the current STCW Convention. This course will refresh the seafarer’s skills in basic emergency duties through demonstrations and practical drills and exercises. This course meets the requirements of Chapter VI, Section A-VI/1, paragraph 3 of the STCW Convention, Chapter VI, Section A-VI/2, paragraph 5 of the STCW Convention, and chapter VI, Section A-VI/3, paragraph 5 of the STCW convention including 2010 Manila Amendments.
