Course Description

This five-day certificate of participation is an introductory training course designed to assist international participants in developing a basic understanding of trawl performance and engineering with emphasis placed on commercial fishing and seafood production. Trawl design, hydrodynamic performance of trawls using the flume tank, selectivity, fish behaviour, discard reduction, seabed impacts, fuel consumption, environmental impacts, and seafood sustainability initiatives will be discussed.
