Certificate of Participation

This course reviews the key elements of Bridge Resource Management (BRM) as they relate to ship operations and reinforces the need for ship bridge teams to maintain a high standard of safety when operating ships. This  7 hour course is supported by a learning management system called BRIGHTSPACE (formally Desire2Learn or D2L). This web-based application will allow you to access all your course materials and communicate with your instructor and your classmates.

• To reinforce participant awareness of BRM as it applies to the safe and efficient operation of ships.
• To help participants recall the factors affecting human performance in order to reduce the risk of accidents.
• To remind participants that a team approach to bridge operations, taken in difficult or high risk situations, can help reduce the impact of human error on the safety of the ship.
• To review participants awareness of BRM concepts and the use of Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum class sizes are required to deliver courses, should these minimums not be achieved classes could be postponed or rescheduled.
