Course Description

Through hands-on, practical skill development, this course provides the deck officer with an in-depth knowledge of the theory and practice needed to safely navigate a vessel.

2.0 The Principles of Marine Chart Construction and Associated Errors.?«

3.0 The Canadian Aids to Navigation System and Associated Publications and Regulation.?«

4.0 The Importance of Magnetic Compass for Ship’s Heading and Position Fixing.?«

5.0 The Effects of Wind and Current Forces on a Ship in Transit.?«

6.0 Calculation of Tide Height for given Charted Position.
