Course Description

This intermediate course is designed to provide ship’s masters and officers with knowledge and skills to understand ship stability and keep the vessel in a safe loading condition at all times.

2.0 Weather Tight Integrity and Associated Factors

3.0 Transverse Stability Principles

4.0 Practical use and Interpretation of Intact Trim and Stability Data provided to Vessels

5.0 The Effects of Vessel Operation, Gear Modifications and Environmental Conditions on Stability

6.0 The Effects of Loading and Discharging Weights on Vessel Stability

7.0 How to Measure and Gauge Initial and Overall Stability of a Vessel while at Sea
